TOUR to ALMERIA, SPAIN.

After leaving Eastbourne at a ridiculously early time, on Sunday 2nd October, 13 players from the Eastbourne Borough Walking Football Club had booked into our lovely accommodation at Vers playa and were in Anton’s Bar by early afternoon, at the start of a six day trip.
There were 3 mornings of walking football, in the Almeria region, with our players visiting
Turre to play Los Amigos, taking a trip up into the mountains to play Lubrin on a pitch at over 1,700 feet above sea level and finishing the week with a trip to La Alfoquia to play against Almanzora Valley. The A-team was unbeaten all week, scoring over 20 goals and also defending well, to limit the goals conceded to single figures. Each of our hosts were friendly, treating us to drinks and food in their local bar.

Of course, there was more to the week than just football. Vera Playa is a pleasant, quiet seaside resort. Our apartments had good facilities and a lot of time was spent round the pool, at the beach, in the bars and restaurants, Go-karting at Garrucha or walking in the local area.
